What is the Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres?
The Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres is a non-profit, community governed healthcare and support service centre. It serves residents of Chatham-Kent, with locations in Chatham, Wallaceburg, and Walpole Island.

Who runs the Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres?
The Centres are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors of individuals residing in the community. Currently, nine directors are responsible for the mission and strategic direction of the Centre.
Do the Centres have a walk-in clinic?
The Centres do not provide emergency care, nor is it a walk-in clinic. Although same day visits may be available, clients must make an appointment. Primary care and support services are available to those registered with the Community Health Centre. If you require emergency care please go to your local emergency room.
What if I need to see a health professional on short notice?
Every effort will be made to leave appointment time slots open and available for clients needing urgent care. Clients must call the Centre to obtain urgent care appointments.
What are the types of health professionals and other staff that provide service?
The Centres will have family physicians, nurse practitioners and a healthcare support team providing services such as mental health counselling, diabetes education, health promotion and community outreach programs.
Do I have to pay to receive services?
There are no fees for any services which are covered by OHIP.
What if I miss an appointment?
Clients are asked to make every effort to keep appointments and to be on time. If you cannot make an appointment we request 24 hours notice.
Can I go to another general practitioner while I am a client of the Health Centre?
When you become a client of the Community Health Centre you are enrolled with the physicians and nurse practitioners at the Centre. If you choose to see another general practitioner the physician and nurse practitioner with whom you are enrolled can remove you from the roster.
